Summary:

“During setup, name 2 characters. Both are in play, or not at all. Named Outsiders might replace Townsfolk.”

The Soul Binder can bind 2 characters together, possibly changing the setup.

How to Run:

At the start of the game, declare that the Soul Binder is in play. Add the Soul Binder token to the Grimoire. Declare which characters are bound together by the Soul Binder.

During setup, if you put a bound character in the bag, you must put the other in too. If an Outsider is soul bound, you may remove one Townsfolk and replace it with the Outsider.

Examples:

<aside> 📖 The Storyteller has made a script that centres around whether the Fang Gu and Oracle are in play or not, so they say that “the Soul Binder has bound the Fang Gu and Oracle together”. During setup, the Storyteller puts neither of the tokens into the bag.

<aside> 📖 The Storyteller has made a script that lacks Outsider manipulation and so they declare, “The Soul Binder has bound the Scarlet Woman and Moonflower together.” During setup, the Storyteller puts the Scarlet Woman token into the bag, and replaces a Townsfolk with the Moonflower.
