Summary:
“Each night*, choose a player: they die. If they had no ability, 1 of their Townsfolk neighbours die too.”
The Pestilence kills Townsfolk neighbouring drunk or poisoned players.
- If the Pestilence chooses a player and they had no ability before the Pestilence killed them, then 1 of that player’s closest clockwise or anticlockwise Townsfolk neighbours die too - Outsiders, Minions, Demons, and Travellers are skipped.
- A player can have ‘no ability’ due to being drunk, poisoned, already dead, or due to another or their own ability. Using an ability to ‘completion’ (such as a Washerwoman who has already learned their info) does not constitute having no ability.
How to Run:
Each night except the first, wake the Pestilence. They point at any player. That player dies - mark them with a DEAD reminder. Put the Pestilence to sleep.
If the chosen player does not have an ability (due to being drunk, poisoned, already dead, or due to another or their own ability) one of their Townsfolk neighbours die too - mark them with a DEAD reminder too.
<aside>
📌 Typically, you can tell when someone does not have an ability because they will be marked with a death shroud, or a ‘Drunk’, ‘Poisoned’, or ‘No Ability’ reminder.
For the purposes of the Pestilence’s ability, the Drunk registers as being drunk, and hence not having an ability.

Tips & Tricks:
- Look for players with bad info: they could be poisoned and provide you extra kills.
- Consider whether you want to get an extra kill. If you get a double kill on someone who isn't an OPG role, that might convince them to reverse their info.
- Kill Minions who have used their abilities. Your goal is to get to final 2 and getting rid of 2 players at once helps with that. Bonus points if you can sell your Minions as poisoned.
- If you have Minions who can kill, work together! You can make a death look like a Pestilence double-kill when it isn’t.
Fighting the Pestilence:
- Pay attention to if your neighbour dies alongside you. You could’ve been poison-killed.
- Save your once per game abilities. The Pestilence can’t get an extra kill on you if you haven’t used it. Plus, you can save your ability for the best time.
- Talk to players who die at the same time as their neighbors. Chances are at least one is a Townsfolk.
