Summary:

“Evil votes secretly don’t count & only 2 are required. Dead executees’ teams lose. After day 3, evil wins. [Some players are evil]”

The Matsuraid and its evil players have no voice but can take away the win instantly.

How to Run:

During setup, choose which Townsfolk and Outsider players will be evil. For each one, show the YOU ARE info token then give a thumbs down. Put them to sleep. Turn their character token upside down. (This shows they are now evil.)

On the first day, mark the Matsuraid with the DAY 1 reminder. At the beginning of each following day, mark the Matsuraid with DAY 2, then DAY 3 reminders. If a day ends and the Matsuraid is marked with the DAY 3 reminder, declare that evil wins.

Before nominations, announce that the minimum number of votes required is 2. If a player asks why, tell them that Matsuraid is in play.

When counting out the votes, count as normal but keep track of how many good players have voted. Announce the overall number of votes, and if it’s the highest today & over 2 votes, announce that they are “About to Die”, even if the nominee isn’t. If a nominee has the most counted votes, mark them with the ABOUT TO DIE reminder.

If a player is executed and dies, declare that the game ends and which team wins.

<aside> 📌 It is recommended to have approximately 50% of the players be evil but you may use any proportion that you like.

You might find it convenient to ask voters to keep their hands up to count the real votes.
