Summary:
“You poison good players who choose the Demon with their abilities, & then learn who they are. 1 good player might then learn you too.”
The Leftenent stays on lookout for the Demon.
- At any time, a player uses their ability and chooses the Demon, that player becomes poisoned immediately. Their ability no longer works.
- As soon as the Leftenent poisons a player, the Leftenent learns who they are, and their character. This happens even if the player was already drunk or poisoned.
- After the Leftenent learns someone they’ve poisoned, the Storyteller may then wake any good player and show them who the Leftenent is.
How to Run:
At any time, if a player chooses to use their ability on the Demon, this player immediately becomes poisoned — mark them with a POISONED reminder. Finish resolving this player’s ability and put them to sleep.
At the earliest opportunity, wake the Leftenent, point to the newly POISONED player(s) and show their character token(s). Put the Leftenent to sleep. Then you may choose to wake a good player, point to the Leftenent, and show the Leftenent character token. Put the good player to sleep.

📌 You should only really be revealing who the Leftenent is once or twice per game, but use your best judgement.
There are 5 ‘Poisoned’ reminders provided, but should you need more, simply make a note of who’s poisoned using paper, a phone, or another device.

Information
“I scour the waves for a sign, an enemy. I used to pray for the sailors pulled away from port town lovers, bone by bloated bone, that the sea shan't take those who desired her. She reduced my eyes to spectral pearls, forever alone, thus I shall sink those starry-eyed fools. Sink, sank, sunk.”

Tips & Tricks:
- If you don’t wake tonight, relax. You know that nobody chose the Demon tonight.
- If you wake, consider talking to the player you learned. They are now permanently poisoned, so their ability will play right into your hands.
- Be ready for action if you wake. There’s a chance a good player just learned who you are.
- Throw shade on players claiming roles that choose at night. If a player ever learns who the Leftenent is, they’ll start looking for who chose players that night. Laying some groundwork may help discredit them when the time comes.
- If you didn't wake, claim to have learned that a player is the Leftenent. You can get them killed and suggest someone else is the Demon. Other evil players can also do this, but be careful that no one chose the Demon that night.
Fighting the Leftenent:
- Pay attention to which players can choose others. These are the only players who can be poisoned by the Leftenent.
- Don’t bother checking the same players twice: you won’t rule out Leftenent that way. The more players you choose, the more chances you have to realize you got poisoned at some point.
- If you learn who the Leftenent is, look around town! You know that someone chose the Demon last night! If you can find them, you know exactly how to win the game.
- Consider whether you want to execute the Leftenent if a player learns them. The Leftenent is a powerful recurring threat, but it isn’t the Demon!
